It has an aftermarket exhaust system and i have no idea if it was properly jetted or not to match the exhaust but my father has had this bike for a couple years now and has never had a problem till now. Of course, cannot totally rule out a wiring issue. Would take apart the kill and starter switch and clean contacts. Shoud be at least 12.6 v. Start the bike, rev it to 3,000+ rpm and again check the voltage across the battery posts. You should see a minimum of 13.5 v and would like to see 14.0 - 14.5 v but your new battery will need time to fully charge unless you took it home and charged it, which is a good thing to do. Like.
