Many parts are still available from a Merc dealer. Unfortunately, the t/t pump motor (and most of the assembly) has been long discontinued. Yes the XR2 would rev between 5500 to 6000 compared to 5000-5500 of the standard blackmax. It is slightly ported, 200hp exhaust and jetted carbs. It will give you a slightly better performance then the black max engine if it is still in good shape. Let me know if you have further questions. Noel.
